Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

1. Principal Engineer/Scientist- Trade Metrology: Vacancy No. 8/2019/2020
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within the trade metrology sector to enhance public awareness to, quality goods and services and provide technical services within specialized Trade Metrology area.

The successful candidate will have at least a degree in engineering or natural science and at least four years practical experience in the development or implementation of standards. The candidate must have a valid driving licence and engineer applicants must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).


2. Senior Safety, Health and Environmental Officer: Vacancy No. 9/2019/2020.
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption and development of a Safety, Health and Environmental Quality Management System through effective review and improvement of processes, policies and procedures of the BOBS integrated management systems and to ensure that customer related processes are effectively maintained.

The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelors degree backed by training in integrated management systems or equivalent. The candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience in Management Systems in a service organization.


3. Engineer Testing-Electrical: Vacancy No. 10/2019/2020.
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within a sector to enhance the delivery of, and public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services and provide technical services within a specialized testing area.

The successful candidate will have at least a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, a valid driving licence and must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
Experience is not necessary but would be an advantage.


4. Scientist Testing-Microbiology: Vacancy No. 11/2019/2020.
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within a sector to enhance the delivery of, and public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services and provide technical services within a specialized testing area.

The successful candidate will have at least a degree in Microbiology or related field and a valid driving licence. Experience is not necessary but would be an advantage.


5. Technician Compulsory Standards-Food Science (Francistown Branch): Vacancy No. 12/2019/2020.
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to enforce compliance with compulsory standards and quality assurance policies and practices to enhance the delivery of goods and services to protect the public in the interest of health and safety, and public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services and provide inspection services.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Food Science or related field and a valid driving licence. Experience is not a requirement.


6. Assistant Technician Testing-Chemistry: Vacancy No. 13/2019/2020.
Job Summary and Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out basic analytical tests (on-site and in the laboratory) in accordance with laid down procedures and reports results; and the maintenance of records.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate course in laboratory technology and a valid driving licence. A minimum of one (1) year experience in sampling procedures, routine testing procedures and laboratory procedures is required.
